Alberta Rent Becomes More Affordable with 4.3% Drop

The average asking rent for residential properties in Canada fell 3.1% year-over-year to $2,074 in November, with Alberta experiencing a 4.3% drop. Calgary rents declined 5.9%, Edmonton 2.8%, though three-bedroom rents in Edmonton rose 1.9%. Rents dropped 1.5% month-over-month nationally, marking 14 months of annual decreases. Purpose-built rentals were most stable, while shared accommodations fell 8.3% to $914.
